මේක තමයි වැදගත්ම දේ. ඔබ අලුතින් මාළු ජෝඩුවක් (Broodstock) පිටින් ගෙනාවොත්, කවදාවත් කෙලින්ම ඔබේ ෆාම් එකේ හොඳ මාළු ඉන්න ටැංකි වලට දාන්න එපා!
• කුමක්ද කළ යුත්තේ? අලුත් මාළුන්ව ෆාම් එකෙන් ඈතින් තියෙන වෙනම "Quarantine Tank" එකක දවස් 14-21ක් තියන්න ඕනේ.ම
• උන්ට ලෙඩක් නැති බව 100% ෂුවර් වුනාට පස්සේ විතරයි ප්‍රධාන ෆාම් එකට ඇතුල් කරන්නේ.
• (බොහෝ අය පිටින් ගේන අලුත් ලෙඩක් නිසා තමයි තමන්ගේ පරණ මාළු ටික මරාගන්නේ).
2. හරස් අපවිත්‍රවීම වැළැක්වීම (Stop Cross-Contamination) 🚫
ගෙදරදි වගේ එකම නෙට් (Net) එකෙන්, එකම සයිෆන් බටෙන් හැම ටැංකියම සුද්ද කරන්න එපා.
• බිස්නස් ක්‍රමය: ඔබේ ෆාම් එක කොටස් වලට බෙදන්න (උදා: පැටව් කොටස, බ්‍රීඩින් කොටස, ලෙඩ වූ මාළු කොටස).

• ලෙඩ ටැංකියකට දාපු නෙට් එකක් කවදාවත් හොඳ ටැංකියකට දාන්න එපා.
3. අමුත්තන් පාලනය (Visitor Control)
පිටින් එන අයගේ අත්වල, සපත්තු වල භයානක බැක්ටීරියා/වෛරස් තියෙන්න පුළුවන්. ෆාම් එක ඇතුලට යන තැන පා දෝවනයක් (Foot bath) සහ අත් සේදීමට විෂබීජ නාශක තියන්න. (ඩිස්කස් වගේ සංවේදී මාළු කරන අයට මේක අනිවාර්යයි).
වැඩේට බහිනවා නම්:
අදම ගිහින් පොටෑසියම් පර්මැන්ගනේට් (Potassium Permanganate) හෝ වෙනත් විෂබීජ නාශකයක් දාපු බාල්දියක් ලෑස්ති කරන්න. ටැංකියකින් ටැංකියට යද්දී ඔබේ නෙට් එක ඒකේ ඔබලා ගන්න පුරුදු වෙන්න.

Many farms in Sri Lanka go bankrupt simply because they ignore basic "Biosecurity" protocols.
1. The Golden Rule: Quarantine Firewall 🛡️
This saves businesses. NEVER introduce new fish (even expensive broodstock) directly into your main farm system.
• Protocol: Isolate new fish in a separate "Quarantine Tank" far from your main stock for 14-21 days.
• Treat them prophylactically and observe. Only introduce them to the main farm once you are 100% sure they are disease-free.
2. Stop Cross-Contamination 🚫
The biggest mistake is using the same net, siphon hose, or sponge to clean every tank. You are just spreading germs from sick tanks to healthy ones.
• Business Protocol: Zone your farm (e.g., Fry Zone, Breeding Zone, Quarantine Zone).
• Use separate, color-coded equipment for each zone. Never mix them.
3. Visitor & Hygiene Control
Bacteria and viruses travel on hands and shoes.
• Install a disinfectant foot bath at the entrance of your fish room.
• Always sanitize your hands before handling fish or water, especially with sensitive species like Discus.
